It’s also hard just being a young African American female, there’s times where people think that we’re all monolithic and the same, you know we can get discriminated against, by the type of music that we want to play and listen to, and I want the gay and lesbian community to understand that I know what it’s like to feel like the “other” and I’m writing a song that the message will hopefully open up people’s minds and will create not a red state or a blue state but a purple state. Where we all can live together in peace with strong imaginations.

I read somewhere that when we can’t speak God can even understand our moans and/or sounds of despair. I’m glad about that except what if I just hit my toe and nothing is really wrong? Does that get interpreted as well? I just ask because I would hate to get in the way of someone needing a real blessing because I kicked the bottom of my bed frame AGAIN.
My life is not perfect; there are long days. Days where tears are involved and even more where laughter is. Laughter is NECESSITY in my house. I love to cook with and for my family. We have watergun fights and will bake cakes just because. My kids are wonderful, bratty, pains in the butt sometimes. They are 1st gen extensions of myself. God’s given me some great gifts in the form of friends and mini people; I’m really starting to SEE that now.
I must be mindful that the people that I am willing to do certain things for may not be willing to do the same for me.
